Thank you
this is between 1830 and 1835 so I think I may have come to the end of that line.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 22 Dec 2024 15:34

No.
Parish records are only the sort of thing you have found, with no further info.

Certs are only available for births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships that have been registered in England and Wales from 1 July 1837, and from 1 January 1855 in Scotland..

Deborah Report 22 Dec 2024 15:19

sorry i have another question for anyone please.

can you obtain certs for parish records? for example i have a parish record on here that simple gives the names of the couple but no date when they married or volume and page numbers. :-(

I think probably not, Jink, unless she and her husband had separated/divorced and she had reverted to her maiden name .

Jink20

Jink20 Report 7 Dec 2024 16:40

Maybe??

There is a Lily Chamberlain listed in a retirement housing complex in the UK, Electoral Registers, 2003-2010

Address is in London

I won't post on this page.

Same person is listed on 192.com
ER 2020-22

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 7 Dec 2024 16:27

Have you tried contacting the daughter, who is (at least I assume it's her - same first name, middle initial, and surname) on the 2024 ER at the address in Dunbartonshire where she has lived since at least 2016 .

Does the person who thought Lilian might have moved to Scotland know the address?

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 7 Dec 2024 16:16

She may still be alive, unless you know differently, Debbie.

She hasn't died in Scotland. up to earlier this year, and not in England or Wales up to 2022.

I don't see any sign of her having remarried in England, Wales, or Scotland.

ErikaH Report 7 Dec 2024 15:52

If she died in Scotland, the record will be on Scotland’s People website

She was young enough to have re-married……….

To save anyone else looking, the husband died in Kent

The woman’s name was recorded as LiLian at both birth and marriage……….NOT a double ‘L’

Deborah

Deborah Report 7 Dec 2024 14:44

for all the above, you have found him :) I knew a lot about him already so you have just verified what I knew - Thank you
strangely enough I was born in Sheerness.

If you have time i have another problem.

Born Lillian Joan Chamberlain 03/11/1927
Married Alex Bell 05/10/1946
I have the Husbands Death but cannot locate Lillian's.

Deborah

Deborah Report 7 Dec 2024 14:30

Is there a site where I can access the 1921 census for free?

Jink20

Jink20 Report 7 Dec 2024 14:07

If you wished to know exactly where Frederick's ship (Forward) was on the Census date in 1911 you would be able to find it's location from the ship's log

It is not online and you would have to make an application to the National Archives to retrieve the entry on the date of the Census (April 2, 1911)

You can order records in advance to be ready for you when you visit Kew. You will need a reader's ticket to do this. Or, you can request a quotation for a copy to be sent to you."
