Hello, I’m wondering if anyone can help. I’ve been trying to track down my late grandfathers army records for my father who is now 80 and would like to know more information, but I am drawing a blank. Any help would be greatly appreciated, not sure where to go from here. Thanks

Kathleen
Was John a British soldier? Royal Navy or RAF?
What is John's middle name and date of birth?
Did he serve in WW1 or prior to 1914?
Did he serve in WW2?
If he served in WW2, those records are not online

Be prepared, it's been 10 months and I'm still waiting for my 2 applications.

70% of WW1 records were destroyed during enemy action in WW2.

However, as OP's father is only 80, his father's Army service was probably in WW2

John B Tiffin probably married in Ipswich in 1942. If it’s the right man, second forename was Banks
