Thank you all very much, your information is a great help. I had sent an Search Document to the MOD, Army Personal Centre in Glasgow in May 2021. A requested chq for 30GBP was sent on 26/10/21.
On 22/02/22 I was advised by MOD that the department has been adversely affected by Covid, unfortunately the chq provided is now out of date. They went on to explain that they now have a massive backlog following several lockdowns.
Interestingly someone attached a "post it note" to the application with the "correct" service number 1809900. Other priorities made me put it to one side
A few days ago my wife mentioned her father, this prompted me to ask you for help as any information may help her to remember some small things with her Dementia. The dreaded "D" is taking up so much of my as I am sole carer.
Can I discuss Y- 700 DNA with the Community, I have found matches in the USA but so far unable to link with my UK family ????

HARDEN, CECIL ALBERT BURNINGHAM
GRO Reference: 1912 J Quarter in GUILDFORD Volume 02A Page 182

Deaths Mar 1971 (>99%)
HARDEN Cecil Albert 9Mr1912 Surrey S W 5g 1209

Following-through on Cecil's family records online shows he is the correct one.
In OP's tree with incorrect birth year...............

The earlier Attestation record to which I referred

First name(s) Cecil Albert
Service number 1447640
Last name Harden
Former service number -
Birth year -
Record set Royal Artillery Attestations 1883-1942
Birth place -
Category Military, armed forces & conflict
Age -
Subcategory Regimental & Service Records
Attestation year 1938
He left 3/6/39 as per Para 204(3) TA Regs

On a side note, if you weren't already aware
Is Cecil's father Charles and Mother Henrietta?? and he was born 9/3/12 ??
If so, Charles' WW1 record is available online
Charles served with Royal Horse Artillery

So after 1920 a soldier should only have 1 service number.
As ErikaH has posted there are two Cecil Albert Harden's listed

1809900
1447640

1447640 Entry reads 3.6.39 para 204 (3) TA regs
A quick Google suggests para 204 relates to Discharge

Paragraph 3 would explain the specific reason for Discharge

Service numbers were block allocated, therefore
1400001-1842000 = Royal Garrison Artillery
(The Long, Long Trail)

His Royal Artillery Attestation in 1941 is on FMP, confirming the Service Number

There is also an Attestation record dated 1938, with a different Service Number

NO other military info online

He was in Peasmarsh, Guildford on 1939 Register

WW2 records are generally not online.

Have a read of this -

https://www.gov.uk/get-copy-military-records-of-service

Be aware that they can take months to get to you.

Would like to find service record for Cecil Albert HARDEN.
Cecil is my wife's father he is thought to have served in the Welch Fusiliers during WW2 and believe his service number was 1809900. We do know he served sometime in Egypt as a Driver. Beyond that nothing is known.
Thanks :-)
