William Brennan born 1882 Shorncliffe, Kent, England.

Hi everyone.

The only military record I can find for William is the UK, Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, 1901-1929.

William Brennan in the UK, Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, 1901-1929
Name:William Brennan
Gender:Male
Father: John
Birth Place:Shorncliffe
Death Date:2 Mar 1909
Death Place: Middleburg, South Africa
Rank:Driver
Regiment:Army Service Corps
Regimental Number:18770

I have searched for further information as to how he died, where he was buried and if perhaps his name is on a monument somewhere, but have found no further info.

I am wondering if perhaps someone might be able to find any further details on another site that I might not be aware of?

Thank you for any help.

The only other thing I can find is the GRO death index:

GRO ARMY DEATH INDICES (1881 to 1955)

First name(s) WILLIAM
Last name BRENNAN
Birth year 1883
Death year 1909
Age at death 26
Place MIDDELBURG
Country SOUTH AFRICA
Record source GRO Army Death Indices (1881 to 1955)

I believe it's possible to order a copy of the death certificate via GRO

That is great MarieCelest.

If no further information can be found, I will definitely see if I can order the certificate via GRO.

Thank you very much for that.
