British Nationals Armed Forces Births 1761-2005

Hello,

I found a relative in the British Nationals Armed Forces Births 1761-2005. On viewing the record it is a page in a ledger with a list of names in alphabetical order. The name is followed by five headings: Place, Year, Regt., Vol., and Page.

It is the headings Vol. and Page that I am particularly interested in. Do they refer to another record and if they do, how do I access that record.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Pat.

They are the refs you need to purchase the birth cert from the GRO.

Order certs online from here:

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

When you fill in the online form to order the certificate make sure you stipulate "overseas births" and when it asks if the GRO reference is known tick "yes".
