hi I'm just trying to pick your brains my mum said her dad was in the army for 6 years in eygpt 1940 to 1945 was this the second world war and how can i find info thank you

WW2 records are with the MOD you can find out how to order them here

If you post the name, location and birth year and any other details you have here there might be something to be found online? ( perhaps in newspaper archive, you never know).

Records cost £30 and can take several months to arrive.
