You originally wanted contact with any of Stephen's relatives. Have you written to her? She would be in the best position to put you in touch with others. Cook is a rather common surname.

Although searching trees is a good move, they may not have registered on this site, nor have added the names of living people other than themselves. Try looking for their parents or grandparents instead.

I cannot find any trees with the information that I need that would be about right for children in have found five so far xxxx

Elizabeth A D Workman shows in trees on Ancestry, with birth in Cardiff and death in Poole in 1978, with slight name changes.
One tree claims 11 children in the family.

Try and contact any of the tree owners for more information?

Mother's maiden name Workman - it is on Freebmd.

Although the parents probably married in Birmingham during 1948, there are Cook/Workman births in Poole reg 1930. There doesn't seem to be an earlier Cook/Workman marriage to account for them. Perhaps one of them wasn't free to marry or they married using the wife's 1st marriage name?

FMP doesn't show the same number of births as FreeBMD.

Searchelectoralroll shows a Stephen M Cook, aged 66, with another person who has the name of the wife from 1984, living in Clitheroe - don't know when. They don't show up on 192.com, though.

Another one, who married in Basingstoke in 1979, is with his wife on the current ER in Plymouth.

It's not too uncommon a name, unfortunately.
