As JC says, I am not related! Just took a punt.
Why do you think it is 'spot on'?

Ann, no one who replies to your message will be connected with the people you are asking about - unless a miracle happens :-)

have a browse of the 'find living relatives' and 'find ancestors' boards, and you will see that a small corps of other paying members of the site is on hand to help find answers to questions, because we pay for subscriptions to genealogy websites and know what other resources there are for finding info (like http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl which is a free site for finding births, marriages and deaths, etc)

and that is where Jan got the info she sent you

you didn't say whether you know the names of the children, so if not, you have them now

and you can try checking at http://www.freeelectoralroll.co.uk/ for example to see whether they are listed on the current electoral roll

Re. above,
To save anyone else repeating what I have done!
I have made a bit of a leap and assumed 'Ronnie' would be Veronica.
There is a possible marriage in Durham of a Veronica to a James Wright.
There appear to be 4 children to the marriage, matching what Ann recalls.
A long shot, but worth checking out I think.
Have PM'd to her, just in case.

ann have you used the very basic function here, 'search all member trees'?

click on Search at the top of the screen, and then on that option

there are four trees here with James Wright 1936 Glasgow in them

here

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/tree/results/wright/james?yearofbirth=1936&birthplace=glasgow

two of the trees seem to be long to one person

you click on the 'find out more' button beside the name and send a private message

if the person still has a current email address in their account at this website, they will get a notice of your message and they will be able to reply even if they do not have a paid up subscription

meanwhile, make sure you always have a current email address in your own account so if someone contacts you, you get a notice

and click 'watch this' on this thread so if someone posts a reply, you get a notice

unfortunately, the website scotlandspeople.gov.uk shows that there were 15 James Wrights born in Scotland in 1936 ... 6 in Lanark but none of them in Glasgow

Hello Ann

Unless you believe he has died, it would be best to remove James' full date of birth. Edit your post to remove the day. The month and year should suffice.

To help us to find him, we may have to look for his wife and children.
What are their names and year of birth, even if only approximate?
Does James have a middle name or initial?

Without divulging sensitive information, the more info you can supply, the greater the chance of finding a lead.
For instance, when were you last in contact, and which town? We don't need to know the exact address unless it was decades ago. Even then, omit the house name or number.
