well there we were bashing away at the same time :-)

I would see where you get with the contact info you have found for those two before fretting about the others - one of them will lead you to all, if you make successful contact!

Thanks, JoonieCloonie. Margee and Malyon. All the info points to the same family, including the Tennesee connection, and now that I know that Bernard J Blackburn has died I need to concentrate on finding his sons and daughter.
I have a good looking address for Bernard W Blackburn and for Karen Nyman, but I am struggling for the others.

Thanks again.

Sorry about that Margee! I came along a little lately and oooops didn't pay strict attention to what came first. The obit confirms what I initially linked to (dates, places and family members' names)

I knew all about the birthdate because what *I* linked to showed that date - and Arthur confirmed to me by PM.

I have been a little harried the last couple of days and hadn't got to replying to that PM ... Arthur please be sure to reply in the thread and not just privately, since no one else could see that you had replied unless I came back here and said so, which I unfortunately didn't get around to doing. :-)

I have to agree, Joonie, I also don't like the fact that Malyon constantly posts info with no clue as to what the source is.

However I have to disagree with your comment that "I very much doubt that the Mr B in Tennesee is the Mr B in Florida" If you look at the obit on the link that I posted it says that he was born 25 Oct. 1935, Sheffield, England. It gives his parents' names, also wife's name Isabelle. Says that he taught for several years in Miami Dade Community College and died in Crossville, Tennesee.

I believe he's the same person.

malyon, I POSTED a link to a record showing the zip code 33169 address that shows in what you have posted, along with all the associated family members' names

DO you ever read what anyone else posts?

do YOU want your address and phone number posted posted on the internet????

there are other names listed in that record, and some of them are LIVING.

what you have posted is a complete dog's breakfast

even if the various info relates to one single person, which I doubt, it is impossible to follow what it is saying because you have reproduced it in some incomprehensible order (and since you don't bother naming the source, there is no way of finding it to see what it actually says)

okay ... googling finds it at the exact same site I linked to (the tinyurl URL)

it is just a compilation of stuff like a load of companies on the US put on line

I very much doubt that the Mr B in Tennesee is the Mr B in Florida, this is just nonsense generated automatically by their programs

PLEASE REMOVE THAT INFO

It is in no way helpful, it does not add to anything already posted, and it violates the privacy of the living people named

Arthur for people in the US if you just google their name and another bit of info to narrow the results if you can - in this case I used the name exactly as you posted it (without the parentheses) and the zip code in that record above, and that got me the names of two children at a couple of websites, so I searched with their given names and his name ... and if that was the right man, there are a bunch of names at this site that came up in the search results

Hello Arthur, in 1984 and 1994 there was a Bernard J Blackburn born in October 1935 living in Florida (at the same address both years)

this would not be unusual if he had settled in Canada and retired to Florida ... although 1984 would have been a little young to retire ... but he might well not have settled and just emigrated onward

if you knew his exact date of birth you could compare it to that record (I won't put it here, just ask whether you know or are going from the index entry)

Arthur Report 10 Nov 2015 12:46

I am looking for any information on Bernard J Blackburn or his descendants, born 4th quarter 1935 in Sheffield UK and is shown on passenger lists as going to South Africa in 1959 and to Montreal, Canada in 1960 as an electrician.

Did he stay in Canada? Did he marry? Is he still alive?

Any information would be gratefully received.

Arthur
