Susan,

Charlotte was born in 1912. You have her down for 1915.

there is this marriage in Newcastle

Marriages Jun 1936
Bennett Peter Nevison Newcastle T 10b 263
Nevison Estelle R Bennett Newcastle T. 10b 263

it would be very young ... but finally, found the wife's birth and it was 1908, so I would rule that out

JoonieCloonie

JoonieCloonie Report 7 Nov 2015 23:40

for emigration, the only record that looks possible is

First name(s) P
Last name BENNETT
Title MR
Gender Male
Age 33
Birth year 1920
Marital status M
Occupation AGENT
Departure year 1953
Departure day 5
Departure month 3
Departure port SOUTHAMPTON
Destination port MADEIRA

your Peter would have been 33 in early 1953 (not yet had 34th birthday later in the year)

travelling with Mrs Bennett, 26, and Miss Bennett, 3, no names given

last address in UK, Port Mills, Brimscombe which is in Gloucestershire, intended permanent residence England

odds are against that being your Peter

JoonieCloonie Report 7 Nov 2015 23:13

if you have no other info, the best advice is to order Peter's birth certificate, which you do here

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

using this info

Name: Peter Bennett
Mother's Maiden Surname: Bruce
Date of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep 1919
Registration district: Newcastle upon Tyne
Volume Number: 10b
Page Number: 204

this will give you his exact date of birth

which can be compared to the death record Rose posted above

if the dates are not the same, it would appear that your Peter Bennett did not die in England/Wales

if they are the same, then if you order the death certificate it could give you family info e.g. his wife's name

might he have died in WWII?

... there is no Peter Bennett among war casualities without a middle name

Susan would you please post your replies in this thread and not send them by private message (unless they contain sensitive personal info)

the box labelled 'Add your reply' at the bottom of the thread is for adding your replies

do you know anything at all about this man other than his birth - was he known to you or someone in your family after his birth?

if so, where, when?

I received a PM stating she doesn't know who his wife was.

Did he move abroad?

Susan you have marked a post here as answered and yet you have not given an answer

do you know who his wife was?

(unfortunately, the mark as answered is not supposed to be used for this, and now your entire thread is shown as completed and no more help needed - a design flaw the site management flatly refuses to fix - but we shall soldier on)

I think Susan may mean in her actual family/tree rather than the one at this site :-)

by private message:
I have been told there were children but I do not have any details.

please do reply in the thread rather than privately Susan, it is so much easier for everyone

you are not really giving us a lot of information

you don't know anything about his marriage?

as Rose/Click says, with his exact birthdate you can search for a death

if there is only one death that matches his quarter of birth, it is either him or the other fellow with the same name born in the same quarter of the year, and only the birthdate will tell you for sure ... you would have to get his birth certificate to know that

Do you have his birthdate?

Possible death here, although there was another Peter born in Hartlepool around the same time.

Unfortunately the search trees does not show Charlotte, don't know why.

Can his sisters give you the name of his children ( if any) then you could perhaps trace them through marriages and the electoral roll?

Susan

I do have sister Charlotte in my tree and yes I am in touch with her family.

Welcome to the boards Susan.

No one who reads this has ever heard of Peter Bennett :-)

do you know that he had children? do you know their names and anything else about them, if so?

presumably if you are searching for them you know they exist and who they are ...

you have sister Barbara in your tree (but not sister Charlotte) ... are you in touch with her family?
