Karen you have Marion in your tree 1933

but do you have yourself (in a different tree under a different account?) under your present name?

as suggested the best thing is to have yourself in your tree under your birth name

if you search here

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

for Marion's birth (assuming that the info in your tree is correct) you will see her mother's surname (assuming the location is the one that appears from the other info)

you can search for other births with the same two surnames

it seems there were 6 children to the marriage in 1910

one of those children at least (I have not searched for all of them) - middle initial S - is in a tree here at genesreunited

you will want to verify that you are looking at the right person if you are not sure

and then this could be a possible way of making a very delicate approach to a family member if no other option seems available ... just enquiring whether that person had a sister Marion and whether the tree owner is in touch with her family as you think you may be related, that sort of thing

If you haven't already, you might wish to add your name to the Adoption Contact Register
https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register

If she, or any subsequent children, is looking for you they may have done the same.

Have you looked for yourself, under your birth name, on Members trees on here? (top right, under search) If anyone has, send them a message asking how they are related.
Also make sure that you, using your birth name, are in your own tree. That way, birth family can look for you.

A Marion Knox married a Mr Oliver in 1958 - Liverpool South. Is that the record you are refering to?

Adoption is a very sensitive matter, not only for her, but for you. Considering the era, she may not have told Mr Oliver that she had a child before her marriage.

Unless you have other information, its irresponsible to focus on this particular lady.

Assuming the Marion who married in 1958 was born 1930-1940,
http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
lists 5 people with the same name, 2 of them born in the Liverpool area.

Welcome to the boards

Can you guesstimate her year of birth? Does she have a middle initial? Does your adoption file give an area for her usual home?

Would she have been likely to be living in England, Wales, Scotland or N Ireland? Or did the birth and adoption take place in a different country?
