There's no guarantee that the members are still active. You can check at any time to see if they've accessed your message.
Look in your GR 'sent mail' box. Unopened messages have an envelope icon next to them. Once they've been read, the icon disappears. Have patience. Assuming they still use the same registered linked email address, they may be on hoiiday.

The people you've contacted via FB may not realise you've sent them a message. Ones from new contacts often go into a different section. It is shown at the top of the column on the left of the page.

Hi.
Thank you for your reply, I'll follow up the links. I've just joined GR and still finding my way around.
I am not related, but Irene was my wifes best friend and she would like to get back in touch. Can't give the reason here. Gerdy

Are you related?

3 people have an Irene Sharples 1945 in their tree - 2 give a p.o.b as Manchester, one as Salford.

Its worth sending messages to all three, especially as one of them has the same name as (and probably is) her son.

The Weymouth marriage is to a T Webb and then a K H Hill.

He shows in Carmarthen in 2003 and 2004 but no sign of Irene.

Hi.
Thanks for your reply. She was married to a K Webb, a son uses this name also. She then married a Hill and moved to the Dyfed area. Both the son and daughter are around there also grandchildren. She shows on a family tree, but in contacting the tree owner it links to a different name! I can't seem to find her name on any other tree, even inputting the name of the tree owner does not show that person. I've tried Facebook, but the son and daughter are not replying, I think there must be a family problem!! I'm using GR because it seems to be the only place with a clear link, even though it seems to have gone dead! I'll try the electoral roll to see what I can find there. Thanks for your comments, Gerdy.

If you don't mind, are you related or have another reason to want to contact Irene?

When was she 'last heard of'? If you have an old address, you might be able to arrange for a historical ER look-up. That would tell you when she left there.

Is it worth looking for the children, or are you already in contact?

We'd normally suggest using
http://www.searchelectoralroll.co.uk/Electoral_Roll_Search.asp
then cross referencing the name and post code on http://www.192.com/all/search/
That would tell you how current the address was. However, 192.com lists an Irene P Webb living in Dyfed with a completely different Mr Webb.

Have you check all members trees to see if she is listed? The tree owner may know her current whereabouts. How about facebook or other social media, especially for the children?

Welcome to GR Gerdy

Is she using her married surname of Webb or did she change it to something else?

Its a pity that neither her children nor Mr Webb have middle names - it makes it difficult to trace them.

I am looking for Irene Sharples, born Salford 1945. Lived in Weymouth until the late 80s and last heard of on Dyfed. Has two children in the area.
