John re Facebook, when you send a message on there to someone who has not added you as a 'friend', the message goes to their "other" message box...Geoffrey may not have noticed there is a message there yet. As well as sending a message, send a "friend request".

If there's no luck with that, I would suggest a letter to both of the G Annal addresses.

I would make a guess that the Shirley who is in the photos on Geoff's FB page could be his sister in her married name, they have a similar look about them?

Thanks for that info. Much appreciated. Mother's name Hilda Barker is correct. I am wondering if anything is coming up in Oz BMD's for Geoffrey's siblings Shirley M Annal b.1937 and Richard Annal b.1943. I also believe, through Facebook, that Geoffrey has a son (possibly nephew) Grant Annal. I haven't been able to establish contact through messaging on FB as yet. Please can you help further with this? Many thanks again. :-)

James Henry Annal was my maternal grandfather and Lily my Grandmother. Evelyn is their daughter (my Mum's sister) who I knew well. She died unmarried 1965. So I can confirm that Evelyn is not a child of Archibald Sr. For a long time Archibald's family details have been missing from my tree and I can now see why I couldn't find anything in BMD's after 1950. It has to be them on the passenger list for Melbourne 1950. The initials match for all 3 children Shirley's middle name began with M (I don't have her full name) so I am convinced now that they moved to Melbourne in 1950. Well done for that Rambling Rose.
If anyone can find any marriages, children and deaths following on from this in Australian records I'd be very grateful. Great result and thank you so much xx

Hi everyone. I don't have living relatives I can ask, so your help would be appreciated: I am drawing a blank when searching for descendents of my great uncle ARCHIBALD ANNAL, b. Leeds, Yorkshire 1887-1977. I have his marriage to HILDA BARKER in 1907 and the birth of one child, also named ARCHIBALD ANNAL b.1907. Firstly I am questioning if Archibald Jr was the only child of Archibald and Hilda. If not who were his siblings? Secondly Archibald Jr married BEATRICE HADWIN (born 1915) in 1934. Were there only 3 children from this marriage - SHIRLEY (1937) GEOFFREY (1939) and RICHARD (1943)? It's puzzling me why I cannot find death records for Archibald Jr and Beatrice. I searched records in UK, USA and Canada. It's odd that I cannot find marriages and children for the 3 grandchildren named above. Did they all emigrate? Thanks in anticipation for any help you can give. :-)
