Based on the assumption that the info you have is correct there are two possible deaths of a Thomas born 1928, dying in the 1950s, not reg in Herefordshire but deaths may have been reg at home address? one 1955 one 1958, you can find them on freebmd.org.uk if you feel it would be worth sending for the death certs ( from the GRO)

Looking between 1920 and 1935 there are 20 births for Tom, and dozens for Thomas, so without more info there's really little chance.

Does he know about you?

l ooking for tom ellis whom i've been told is my father he was hop picking in herefordshire in 1950
