I have ordered my original birth certificate now and I must thank you all once again for pointing me in the right direction. Horray! :-)

From your birth registrations your mother's maiden name is also Bates. This suggests she was unmarried.

Do you have your original birth certs

Its unlikely anyone will just know about you . try Search members Trees which is under the Search Heading above the threads to see if anyone has either of your in their trees you can then try to make contact using the find out more box.

I am looking for my birth relatives. I was born john edward bates in lambeth in 1969. I have a twin sister nicola and we were both adopted out to the same family. Please get in touch if you know anything about me. :-)
