Can anyone tell me how I find out about someone who married in France. as they don't show up anywhere on freebmd. I have recently been told she married a french man. Don't know where to start :-( :-|

Hi thank you for replying her name is Hilary Parry, she was born in Ealing 1947 Parents moved to Hove Sussex. in to date Nevill Rd. left school 1964 and worked in a dentists in Portslade ,Sussex. She had a brother John and a sister Jane, now drawn a blank. to date.

sorry I missed the year not sure but it would 1968-1975 when most of us at her age married about that time.

If she married in a French church or establishment and didn't register the marriage at the British embassy then it won't be on the consular marriage records .

Married in France
If you wish to get married in France, you must get in touch directly with the mayor's office of the town in which you wish to marry.

You must also get in touch with your Consulate in France.
