Richard may actually not want to give his identifying personal information on the internet here, or name his mother, who may not want her personal information here :-)

I have assumed that Richard would have his birth certificate as a first step to know whether his father was named, but I might assume wrong!

Richard.
Have you got your birth certificate?
If so, what surname were you registered with & what is your mother´s name.
Were you born in Lancaster Royal Infirmary?
If not, what is the address on the certificate?.

If you don´t have your certificate, I would suggest you send for a copy.

Norrie actually is a given name ... between 1943 and 1957 there were a dozen 'Norrie' births in England/Wales

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

of course it could also be short for Norris for example, which could be either a given name or a surname if 'Norrie' is a nickname

and then there are Norman and Norton various other more unusual names beginning with Nor... (Norwood, Norwell ...)

I know its a long shot!!!
Possibly in his 60's but i do believe he's living in one of the areas i have stated. he was seen recently by a relative in Heyshaw who actually spoke to him and give some info regarding my mum but he had to rush off, and this relative only knows him as Norrie sadly, but possibly his first name.....

Until you find out his surname, you have no chance, I'm afraid.

And you need some idea of age.

Are you in contact with your mother?

Could she tell you more?
