No it just means that an amendment was requested and was accepted as genuine by the Register Office

amendment was done on the authority of the Registrar General (if thats significant ?)

Do you think Daisy May could have married someone else around the 60's as Lewis was retired in 1946 when Patricia was born .......That would explain her disappearence and lack of death certificate in the name of Roberts

well a correction was done in Sept quarter 1960 adding Roberts to Patricia entry

this implies that her parents did either marry OR lewis had his name added to the birth which wasnt done at the original registration

Patricias GRO 1946 ref for the page nos says see S,60 ie look at the record done in Sept qtr 1960.


so someone in 1960 had the amendment done

You would get the amended copy of the birth when you applied for it.

could you please explain what re-registering is?

they must have married because Patricia was re registered in 1960

Edit not strictly re registered as you cant register the birth twice but an amendment was done then for the 1946 birth

Can confirm that is Daisy May's birth entry

looking on FreeBMD there are possible births right up to 1960

so would still make her about 43/4 so they are possible children for them

Have birth certificates for both daughters born 1946 and 1948

so looking at the 1948 birth the child is listed with both surnames.

looked for a marriage but none came up so have you looked for Daisy death as Fitzpatrick ??

Think Lewis born 1882 and Daisy May born 1917......cannot find any marriage cert.

Am looking for surviving relatives of the above named.
She came from the Liverpool area and was there in 1948 giving birth to her second daughter. She lived with Lewis Price Roberts last known address Mulgrave Street, Liverpool. Family rumour has it that she died in a shop buying clothes for her children with a view to emigrating to Australia.

Can anyone direct me where to look next........unable to find Lewis or Daisy's death certificates and children if they were young at the time,would they have gone to an orphanage? Just a pointer as to where to go next would be very much appreciated, Thank you Dave
