Are you saying that her birth name was Nora Flaherty, and born 1950 in London?

If the birth is the correct one you need to order the certificate from here:

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp

Have you also applied for her adoption files?

[PM received from Jane today, asking if I know anything about Nora. I've replied directing her back to this thread, and saying that all I know is what's on here, and that I'm not a relative.]

Jane, have you tried "Search All Trees"?

If you click on "Search" at the top of this page, then on "Search all members'' trees", and search for Eileen Flaherty, born 1950, London, you'll see that someone called Eileen has an Eileen Flaherty 1950 London in her tree.

If you then click on "Find out more", you can ask Eileen if the Eileen on her tree is the one you're looking for. If so, she may perhaps be able to tell you more about Nora.

(Although she doesn't seem to have Nora in her tree.)

Of course, the Eileen Flaherty on her tree may be a completely different person.

Jane -

why are the details you gave in the opening post here different from your other thread

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/living_relatives/thread/1343465

and why did you start a new thread when there already was this one with people helping you in it?

actually from that thread it now seems that Jane is asking on behalf of Eileen ...

there should not be two threads on the same person

Jane please decide which thread you are going to pursue and put a note in the other one that people should switch threads, so people don't spend time on the same searches as has been done now

(also, Jane, we do know it is confusing, and there is nothing to be done about it now since you have done this in both threads, but the 'mark as answered' is only for once your search has been completed ... maybe if ArgyllGran deletes the post with the living person's personal details that will clear up the thread a bit anyway)

Done as suggested, JC.

(For others' info, it was the third post in this thread, and that's what Patchem's post about ordering the birth cert refers to.)
