GR membership numbers

I am very new and have noticed that the recency of membership numbers is sometimes mentioned.

Would somebody be able to tell me how old a membership number beginning 578 (seven digits in total) is likely to be?

I don't want to make contact until I receive some additional certificates from the GRO, but I think I may have found a living relative that has a tree on here. I am very short on leads, so am hoping it's recent (ish).

I think it's fairly old, judging from my own and looking at a couple of others on the board I'd say about 2007. but they may still be here or at least have the same email address for notification .

Thank you & thank you to the lady that responded by PM. I am hoping that they still have the same email address as unless the certificates can provide any more clues this may be the only lead I have.

It is possibly a bit sensitive, so I want to do as much research and double checking as possible before making contact.

why on earth respond by pm about a membership number??

They are not a state secret, nor can they be used to identify a member off site and thus be used as Identity Theft ......................... the usual reasons for keeping things secret on this site.
