Hi Im looking for the above person , she lived in the Upper Tulse Hill area of London in the late 1950's and was a petrol pump attendant , anyone know anything please ? thanks

Was that her maiden or married name?

How old would she have been in the late 1950's when you knew her - to make it easier to look for marriages, deaths etc.

No she was my birth mother , thats all I know just come up against brick walls...

Have you got your adoption files and her exact name from your birth certificate?

Ive only got my original birth certificate , the adoption papers were lost in a fire at Edmonton court , thats all the information I have , her name and occupation and her address at Upper Tulse Hill road

Was there really a fire?

A lot of adoptees seem to be told their files were lost in a fire when they first enquire. Upon pressing the issue a little more files seem to miraculously appear.

I see that there was a post on Rootsweb, did you look into this just on the offchance?

"From searching I see a reference in the National Archives to a St Joseph's mother and baby home at 107 Tulse Hill. I can't see any other references though."
