Looking for brother in law's father in Australia

Hello all.....

I have seemed to have reached a dead end once my brother in law's father went to Australia? Any help/advice would be welcomed....

His name is David L C Stephens born 1949 in Evesham, Worcestershire (Father Donald W R Stephens, Mother Elsie D Stephens nee Green). He married Ann O'Sullivan in 1968 in Salisbury (they had a daughter Michelle Ann J Stephens in 1969). He then married my brother in laws Mum Elizabeth Kibble in 1978 - where they had my brother in law in 1980 and his sister in 1978. He then went on to marry Beverley J Murphy in Dec 1984 in Plymouth, Devon where he then (we believe) left for Australia. That's where i have reached my dead end! I have no idea where he went in Australia - Blackwater QLD has been mentioned but no evidence. Not sure either if he is still married to Beverley?

If anyone can give me any advise on how to search in Australia on the info we have I would be truly grateful....

Many thanks

Sorry to be rather curious, but do you actually want to contact him, or just wondering what happened to him?

Does he have any siblings, and have you been in contact with all the family members that he left behind?

Thank-you

Added:
Have you got him or his parents in your tree on here, so that if his family came looking they could contact you?

Hey

Thanks for reply...

My brother in law wants to contact him....

I do think (David LC Stephens) has other siblings but not sure or indeed if they would be willing to give him any info..... I said I would help to try and find him directly first.....

Yes i have started to create a tree for the Stephens family....

Thanks

http://www.whitepages.com.au/ is the Australian on-line phone book. There isn't a listing for a D L C Stephens in Queensland, although you could go through each state/territory in turn.

If your brother in law knows his full name, there's no harm in making an internet search for him. It should be listed in full on his MC to your BiL's mother. Have you tried the social media sites such as Facebook?
Did he have a particular trade or proffession he may have continued?

According to Freebmd, there is one other Stephens/Green birth in Evesham reg, in 1951. If his family subsequently moved, there could be others.

In case it comes in handy later, as the informant may be one of David's siblings

Hey +++DetEcTive+++

Thanks that's brilliant news and thanks for your help... well that's definitely his dad! I do think he has a brother born in 1951 so on the right track!

I am going to have a look in the 'white pages', as I had a tip he may have been in Melbourne... worth a try anyway! Also was told Beverley (his wife when he went to Australia) may have died but I need to see if the dates tie in....

Thanks though everyone for your help... :-)

Have "nudged" up Cherilyn's thread on Find Ancestors Board which offers look-ups in Australia -is it worth asking her ?
