Catherine, if you enter the address in Zoopla or similar site you will be able to see when the property was last sold, that might give you an idea of how long ago he left there?

Otherwise, if you can find his birth that might help with finding his parents or siblings if he has any. He may not have been born in leicestershire, but if he moved there as a child with his parents a younger sibling might show up being born there?

He did know about me as he wanted to keep me but my mother didn't. He was a motor mechanic at the time but no employer details. I was born in Croydon & he was living there, I have the address but he is not on the electoral roll. A female is, with a different name. Neither my birth mother or her brother can provide any further details.

You know his occupation, do you know if he worked for a specific firm? Just a chance that they may have a workplace entry on Friends Reunited.

Does he know that he is alleged to have fathered you?

'from' Leicester does not necessarily mean he was born there

I'm looking for my birth father. All I have is his name, age at my birth, occupation & that he was from Leicester. I've tried the birth records but none match year & location, he was not on the electoral roll at the time of my birth or the year before or after. I don't know what else I can try. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
