Hi there, I am looking for my half sister who was born in or around 1968 to a Denise Seymour and Dale Port. I think her birth name was Rosemary
I have been told she was born in Warrington, family from Sutton Coldfield in Birmingham

birth was 1970 Stratford upon avon reg district Rosemary Ann

her GRo reg page nos has a small s against it indicating she was adopted and only a short birth cert would be issued . this wouldnt give any details of her parents names or addresses

she is reg as Seymour

look on search trees to see if anyone has her or her mum listed

You could try adding your details to the National adoption conatct register so if she goes looking for family she will be given your details

As Shirley mentioned if Denise was in born 1954 Salford .. she has a GR family tree
married twice hence the different surnames/accounts
she is on the electoral roll under both surnames

It is possible as Denice is easy to find, that Rosemary has been in contact with her birth mum.

Thank you both so much for your replies. I'm really clueless about finding her and very new to this website, my father also won't speak about it so I don't have a lot of information to go by.
I can't join the adoption register as I don't have Rosemary's date of birth, it's all looking a little hopeless really as I'm sure rosemary will be married or have a different name from adoption?

Search all members trees on this site (drop down box under 'search' top right of any page)
Enter Denise Seymour b 1954.
Of the 4 results, 2 give the pob of Salford, both trees owned by a Denise. Click on the 'find out more' button to send a message to the Denise, Member No. 8863845.

You can check if she has read your message by looking in your 'sent' message box. if there is an envelope icon next to it, then she hasn't. Have patience for a couple of weeks in case she is away from her computer.

The issue of Birth certs without knowing the full dob have a closure of 50 years. If Denise doesn't reply, or disclose the details, you may have to wait until 2018

It seems somewhat harsh that you can't join the adoption contact register without an exact DOB, but there it is.
Now that Shirley has located her birth recod, it might be worth inquiring to see if you can have your contact details attached to her adoption file, in case she ever accesses it. I would have a word with the relevant social services department and ask their advice.
