I thought the Spires/Higgins births started in 1927 in Camberwell, and then continued in Surrey Mid E.

The parents' marriage could be

If they did not stay in Surrey, it is hard to find the births

There's nothing in Surrey.

Hi rose, yes he new me for two and a half years, his first wife , who he was at the time came to see me when I was born.

Thanks for responding, I have checked on genes under bmd and have downloaded info on birth record for him and marriage record for first and second wives, but I don't know where to go from there I even have address and no for his second wife. But am terrified to go further, I can't find anything in deaths for him.

Sorry I should have said he was born in Surrey
And was married twice
He had children with his first wife I do not know if any with second.
I would like to trace any of his children.
I was born in 1968 out of wedlock (while Fred was married to his first wife) my mother's name is Therese Douglas
I have two children of my own and have no medical history re him/family
