	The one living in Kettering married Doreen in 1952.....so it does not look like its him

	You say you have done a lot of searches, so not sure if you have tried this or not! Would there be anything to be gained by tracing his 2nd wife's family? Her name is fairly unusual - assuming it's the Maidstone marriage. Maybe they might know something? There is just one person showing on 192,com with that surname in Maidstone, might be worth a try. 	do you know whether his second wife had been previously married ... that is, would the mother's surname for any children's births be the same as the surname she married as? do you know whether he had children in his second marriage? not asking you to put info about the wife or children here which would not be wise, just whether you have that info :-) someone at this site has a John born in Cheshire in 1932 in their tree ... it seems to be the wrong location, but there wasn't actually a John registered in Bucklow, the relevant reg dist, 1931-33 ... was he an only child? he seems to have been ... probably if you have done all that searching we won't have suggestions you haven't tried ... but if someone does search for his name someday, having your post here could mean they would find you be sure to keep your email address in your account at this site up to date so if someone tries to contact you, the message reaches you!
