Have you eliminated all these marriages, Billy? You can't rely on her middle initial always being given.
Place of marriage isn't necessarily any clue, as people moved around so much during and after the war.

Of course, if she never married, and is still alive, you won't find any BMD record of her after 1924 in any case.

Marriages Dec 1942 (>99%)
Ingham Gladys Simpson Burnley 8e 329
Simpson Alan Ingham Burnley 8e 329

Marriages Dec 1946 (>99%)
Ingham Gladys Mills Rochdale 10f 828
Mills Joseph J Ingham Rochdale 10f 828

Marriages Mar 1947 (>99%)
Clayton Fred Ingham Leeds 2c 570
Ingham Gladys Clayton Leeds 2c 570

Marriages Sep 1947 (>99%)
Ingham Gladys Shepherd Calder 2b 721
Shepherd Frank C Ingham Calder 2b 721

Marriages Jun 1948 (>99%)
Ingham Gladys Ward Manchester 10e 580
Ward Frank Ingham Manchester 10e 580

and several others . . . . not to mention all the Gladys Mercer marriages, which may also be possible.

Have you looked at FreeBMD as has been suggested in your other threads?

If you get that marriage certificate you will be able to find it if it is the correct Gladys.

If it is not, then either she has not married, or she has been adopted?

Was looking at that marriage Herfordshire??? then south Shields to have a child 15 years later

Not sure the two match up

Do you know Graham that also has her in his tree?

Not impossible that she is the marriage in 1940, but she would have been extremely young? Is it possible that if her brother was sent to a home she was also and possibly fostered or adopted?

My Father Frank Ingham 1821/1985 had a sister who he lost contact with when he was sent to a home in Birmingham from Oldham back in the 30s, He always said he had a sister but never located her, now I am researching the family tree I have taken over the mantel to try and find maybe not his sister but relatives of as his sister would be 91 now. Gladys Jean Ingham Born 27th July 1924 in Oldham,
Parents Daniel Ingham & Edith Ingham nee Mercer, I would love to trace my dads sisters relations,
Always in hope x
