unfortunately nigel was not allowed any contact as the farther of the young lady was adamant about this . pam and Richard both offerd to assist financially but this was also refused as well as the name not being allowed on the birth cert...so unfortunately they have no information or any idea where to start.
regards ali... pam and Richard.

Once you have a date (or even year) of birth, you might have to purchase all the BC with the first name Mathew born around then.

Start with those the registration area which includes Swindon. Look for ones registered with the same surname as the mother's maiden name. If you're lucky, Mathew might be double entered with his father's surname - that would depend if his father was present when the birth was registered.

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

Double check the spelling of the name - it usually has two Ts.

The grandparents might want to consider putting an advert in a local paper, asking for contact from anyone who worked at the hotel or knew Nigel. No need to give the exact reason - that could be followed up if anyone makes contact.

They might have a problem finding the mother if she didn't have family in the area - depending on the size of the hotel, employees could have come from anywhere in the world.

Check to see if the Hotel has a listing in the work place section on Friends Reunited.

Suggest that they add as many details as they can to http://www.missing-you.net/
Even though its closing down in Dec, people can still reply to posts.

Do you have a year of birth for Mathew (or could it be Matthew?)

Do you know if Nigel's name was on the birth certificate?

Is Nigel in your tree on here?

Thanks
