Hi , thank you for taking the time to read this .
I am trying to trace my Mother in Law, Ann, Adopted son.
He was born in Oxford 1963 . Name at birth Paul Trafford.
Against Ann's wishes he was given up for adoption in George St Oxford.
He was taken to ipswich to live with his new family as far as we know.
Ann has registered with Norcap but no info has come back.
I appreciate it is hard to trace Adopted children.
We are stuck and do not know where to turn.
Ann is getting older like all of us.
She is desperate to find him and regrets every day they have been apart.
Any advice would be very gratefully received. Mike

Has Ann registered on the National Adoption Contact site

If Paul also registers looking for birth family he will be given the contact details

I wonder if she could also have her contact details attached to his adoption file, in case he goes looking? Might be worth asking the relevant social services dept for advice.

Thanks for your replies so far .
I imagine when Ann registered with Norcap which there was a fee.
All the relevant information would have been attached and logged in the system.
I think it was like a subscription thing and has finished now.
I have downloaded the form mentioned from the National Adoption Contact site.
I am filling it in as i write.
I know she gave photos of birth place and address to Norcap . Mike .

You should add Ann to your tree. If he come looking, it will be her name he will be searching.

Hi , Ann Trafford is in my tree .
Yes Norcap went into Administration in 2013 .
Almost all the records were handed over to another company.
