We have a similar in my family . The mum was getting married and her husband was adopting her son. They couldn't complete the adoption until the marriage had taken place and the mum too had to adopt her son in her new surname . The child's father had to sign over his parental rights as part of the adoption process

Working on the assumption that the two daughters married under their original surnames.........I have found possible marriages for both of them which I will PM to Lisa.

One couple appears to be together on the Electoral Roll.

I would have thought it unlikely that a partner adopted the children without being married to their mother.
They may however have used his surname for the time that the couple were together.
I think your father would have had to have been asked about a full adoption.

Father - Anthony R Marshall b1947
Mother - Michele L Taylor b1953
2 daughters - Paula Jean Marshall b1970 and Suzanne Marshall b1972 they was born with Meriden

Welcome to the boards Lisa

Did their mother marry her partner? If so, you could search the Electoral roll for the 'parents'. Depending on their ages, you could look for your half sisters potential marriages, then look for them under their married names on the ER

GR and other sites have subs to current ER. 192.com is a pay to view site with the same information.

If you feel able to give further details such as names, year of birth and geographical area, those with subscriptions might be able to help.

Bear in mind that anything you post on threads can be found in an internet search.

Its always possible that the girls could be looking for their biological father.
Search all members trees to see if anyone has them or their parents x 3 listed and send a message asking for further information.

Another option is the Adoption Contact Centre
https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register
There is a fee of £30 for you to register, but no guarantee that they have as well.

My dad had a marriage before he married my mother. He had two daughters in that marriage. I know when they was born, and even found my dad's marriage, but I have been told they got adopted by their mothers partner of the time of the divorce. I was wondering if anyone could help.
