Possibly one of the details has been incorrectly copied over, so that if they were looking for that exact match, it would not appear.

You could try again, and only ask for a death in Sutton of Mary Turner in 1992.

The date of birth was 23.1.1916 so I too thought that could be her death details - I sent for that certificate and received a notification recently that there is no record although I put in the exact same details as you have here!

If you have her exact date of birth we can use that to look for deaths just under Mary Elizabeth.

However, this looks a possible:

Mary Elizabeth Turner
Birth Date: 23 Jan 1916
Date of Registration: Oct 1992
Age at Death: 76
Registration district: Sutton
Inferred County: Surrey
Volume: 15
Page: 489

She was born in 1916. I have looked at 192.com which as you say shows not too many - of course he may not have survived childhood etc so I may well have to search through deaths in the area first. Thank you to all of you for your help!

There are very few Mark W Turners showing on 192.com - you could have a quick look at those to get some idea of numbers and areas, though none of them might be him.

In fact, there seem to be far more births for Mark W Turner than are showing on the ER, unfortunately.

Yes you can for older births . ie those that are more than likely deceased now
guessing she was born in the 1920,s ??

Am I allowed to do that? Was asked earlier to remove a date of birth - not sure when it is ok to do so.

I do have a copy birth certificate for Mary Wiggins but haven't looked for a remarriage - have tried to find a death but not able to - perhaps that's because she had remarried - will try that next - thanks for the suggestion.

How old were they when they married?

There are several births for a Mary Wiggins. So needing to know her age will identify the right lady

The other Turner/Wiggins births don't appear to be in the area. Seeing as they also married in Croydon, I wouldn't waste money on the others:

Marriages Sep 1949
Turner Albert H J Wiggins Croydon 5g 71
Wiggins Mary E Turner Croydon 5g 71

When was Mary born? Perhaps you can go sideways and look for her siblings or her death?

I've tried to check if he is in anyone else's tree - no result. I've had his father and mother in my tree for a long time and have had not hot spots etc. I know what happened to his father but cannot trace what happened to his mother. There were a number of other births to Turner/Wiggins around that time so I suppose I will just have to send for some more birth certificates to find out if he had any siblings.

Could you remove his exact date of birth because of the risk of identity theft?

Thank-you for explaining your connection.

Do you know what happened to both his parents, and if he was an informant on a death certificate?

Do you know when he was last known and where?

Have you looked to see if he or his parents are in anyone's tree on here?

I'm wondering where he is now. He was born in 1955 in Croydon. His mother was Mary Elizabeth Turner (nee Wiggins) his father Albert Henry James Turner who was my father also..

When you say details, do you mean birth parents, siblings, or where is he now?

What information have you found about him, and was he last known in Croydon, when?

Thank-you
