Alan Fraser, 1948, Kinning Park, Glasgow, is in a tree on here. There are also quite a few William Fraser's 1948 Glasgow.

Alan Sneddon, 1948, Glasgow, is in Alan Sneddon's tree on here.

Alan's full birth name was William Alan Fraser and his birth parents were William Fraser and Marjorie Elizabeth Campbell she died January 1952. My Grandfather decided to use the middle name of Alan instead of William when he adopted Alan and he wasn't given another middle name by him at that time.

Have you looked to see if he is in anyone's tree on here under either surname?

And have you also got him and his parents in your tree on here?

Thanks for the replies Alan was born May 10 1948 Glasgow Scotland and went to Australia with his adopted Mother in 1962 he went on leave from Australian Army in April of 1967 and never returned the army visited his Mother and his Sister and her family on a couple of occasions but apart from that there was no other search for him as far as I know my family had already left Australia and settled in New Zealand at this point so we had very little contact my Father is Alan's brother and I was only a small child when this happened over the years it has always been a mystery as to what happened to him whether he stayed in Australia or returned to Scotland and as he new what his birth name was if there was a possibility that he started using this name to remain undetected by the army as he was AWOL it has only been since trying to research our family tree that it has become a bit of an obsession to find out what happened to him and if he is still living. You are probably wondering why his Mother my Grandmother didn't do more to trace him Alan was by birth my Grandfathers Gt nephew and he decided to adopt Alan when his own Mother died and his Father refused to accept responsibility for him my Grandmother wasn't happy with this so she never had any strong connection with Alan and that was worse after my Grandfather died.

Thanks again for the help
:-)

There are a number of Australian ER entries for an Alan Sneddon - did he have a middle name??

Was there a Police or Army enquiry?

Adding 'Australia' to your title would mean that those who have info for that country would pick up on it

Have you got a year of birth for him, and what efforts were made to find him in 1966?

Thank-you

Heather

Am looking for my Uncle Alan he was last seen leaving army barracks in NSW Australia around 1966. Alan was adopted by my Grandfather Robert Browning Sneddon in 1953 his birth surname was Fraser. I anyone can help with this search it would be greatly appreciated.
