David,

As Rose has said, I just did an internet search on his name and found that notice.

I suggest you now try the local newspapers around that date to see what other information was put in e.g. announcement of funeral arrangements.

You can try contacting the undertakers, but they will have confidentiality to consider.

It depends what you wanted to do if you had found him before he died.

Was he aware of your existence?

Hi,
Had thought about contact of the undertakers , but do agree with you there info would be very classified .No he would not have known anything about me . He was married years ago and had a brief encounter with my birth Mum, which I was the result and therefore given up for adoption, but now have my file , and believe this was my father location fits in to where my mother lived at the time .I only got my file yesterday after all this tme , so all come a bit too late.

Hi David

His Mothers maiden name was Godley.

So this might possibly be his parents marriage........

Marriages Jun 1931 (>99%)
Godley Doris G Newton Ticehurst 2b 269
Newton Charles V Godley Ticehurst 2b 269

If you go to this free site......

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

Put in the surnames Newton and Godley..........I think you will find he has a sister Pamela?

That's very unlucky for you.

It looks as though he was married before Peggy in 1959 and there was a child born the next year.

His first wife appears to be in trees on here.

The sister who married Mr Errey had children, the son that she was living with on the ER (2002-2003) is on facebook.
