I am searching for an uncle who was born William Phillips, on 05/07/1942 in Wolverhampton, England.

Mothers Name: Phoebe May Phillips (formerly Ward)
Fathers Name: William Jones

On the birth certificate, it is listed that he was adopted, although I do not know when or where.

I would love any assistance or contact with regards to finding him.

Thanks!

Thanks for doing those searches.

Cassarilda is an old nickname of mine, and Catherine Kingston is another child of my grandmothers (who I tracked down in 2005/2006 - while Ive not met Catherine yet, I have met her brother).

William is her third child, who she had just prior to Catherine. I think he is hard to find because he may not even know he was adopted - my father's adoptive parents, some 15 years later in Australia, were told to burn the records and never tell him - thankfully they didnt follow this advice. I hope this isnt the case with William - do you know the procedures in the UK in those days with adoption?

Thanks so much for looking though.

Add yourself to the national adoption contact register - if William is looking for his birth family, he may have done the same

Whether or not William was told that he was adopted is down to the adoptive parents...................there is no way that the authorities can interfere

Reggie,
I have just done that, so heres hoping - a adoption contact register was how my father's siblings got in touch initially (my mum saw their contact wanted/seeking, and then got in touch)
Thanks :)
