You can look in 'search all trees'......under the 'search' button.

But as you have no idea of year and place of birth....................how would you know if any of them was the one you are looking for?
And the name is very common.............

I suppose the estimate of birth year is more plausible, given your mother's age when she had you - I was thinking along the lines that a man of that age would have known better than to impregnate someone to whom he was not married

Thank you Reggie. Sorry, but I think I did at first click on your name first time.

My mother was 42 when she had me. I know very little about
James Cunningham as she never mentioned him but a sister told me his name
and said that he had two sons elsewhere. He didn't stay around & I never met him. So I just thought it would be interesting to see if there were any of his descendants around. I had thought I might be able to put the name in and ask if anyone had that name on their Family Tree but I can't seem to find that place on GU any more, they seem to have changed the layout in the last year. Many thanks.

Very unlikely that you can trace him after all this time................if you weren't given firm facts, you are going to struggle

However, I would have thought it unlikely that he would have been as old as 50 when he fathered you..............how old was your mother?

I haven't used GRU for over a year and have forgotten most of it.

All I know is that he might have come from Kent but was probably in Sussex
in about 1938. The name is that of my father whom I never knew.

You need to get some accurate info..............then look in 'search all trees' for links on GR

How do you connect with him?

Why is there so much uncertainty?

The name is too common for anyone to help until you give more info

Does anyone have this man in their family tree. He would have been born around 1888 to 1908 and may have originated in Kent or Sussex.
