I thought it was wills and probate that I found the will but if the records stop at 1966 I obviously didn't!! It is bugging me because I looked up 3 at the same time and recorded them but my computer time at the library was up and I didn't record the last one.

If he had a small Estate, and his wife was the sole heir, the Will may not appear on the Probate Calendar.

Unless the Will went to Probate, you will not be able to obtain a copy.

And Ancestry do not have records as recent as 1997.......................they currently hold the Probate Calendars for 1858-1966

Apply to the Probate Office, giving as much detail as you know..................you will have to enclose payment of (I think) £6.00, which will not be refunded if no Will is found, and you will not be notified.

Where can I find a copy of a will for J W Barraclough? He was born in 1917 and died in 1997 in a nursing home in Torbay.
