Have sent PM, there is a marriage for David`s sister Carole that matches
surname of a Carole who has mother Joan born 1940, and Carole born 1962
in her GR Tree, also Carole her husband and son in 192.com 2013 electoral roll.

There is this marriage, with an extra 'l' to fit the mother's surname:
Alan Smith
Date of Registration: Apr-May-Jun 1962
Registration District: Staincliffe
Inferred County: Yorkshire West Riding
Volume Number: 2d
Page Number: 464
Joan xxxx Smith Apr-May-Jun 1962 Staincliffe Yorkshire West Riding

Joan could be in people's trees on here.

His mother seems to have had a reasonably unusual surname, are you aware of this? I can't pin down a marriage for his parents though.
It might be an idea to get his birth cert ( I assume you don't already have it,) and see what his parents are called.
I know it seems a bit off-track, but with a name like David Smith you might need a different approach.
I shall PM the records of his birth and that of his sister from the indexes.

Last place I know was the Manchester area when he was in a relationship with my mother, after that im unsure. I think his father still lives in the Burnley area though.

Nicholas, first thing - you need to remove his exact birthdate, for his protection as this is not a secure site.
I can see both the births on Ancestry.
When'where do you last know him to be?
