Looking for any living relatives of the above lady. She was born in Fawley in March 1904 to parents Mortimer Thomas Garside & Emily Garside nee Cull. They also had another daughter in Aldershot in 1905 Dorothy Primrose. I believe she died as an infant in 1906.

Emily remarried in Portsmouth in 1909 (don't know what happened to Mortimer) to George Baker from the IOW. The family resided in Cowes & are listed as such on the 1911 Census. Emily & George went on to have four more children. Dor b 1909, George b 1911, Winifred b1913 & Geoffrey b 1915.

Gladys married on the IOW in 1926 to Albert Slade (stating her maiden name as Baker & not Garside) but believed to have separated before 1929. Gladys gave birth to my grandmother in December 1929 at Fairmile House in Christchurch, Bournemouth with no father listed on her birth certificate, my grandmother was adopted quite some time later in February 1931. It is believed that Gladys was working as a waitress at the Derby Hotel in Knyveton Road.

I can find no further records on Gladys. I have been able to trace the names of family members of her half siblings but that is where my trail ends.

If anyone has any further information on Gladys or her family I would be very very grateful.
