How to find adopted fathers birth parents??

Hi I am looking to find my dads birth family....

In Completly new to this. I have wanted to do this for a long time but don't have a clue where to start :-S

The only information I have is my dads birth name, date of birth and place of birth.

Name: John Wilkes
D.o.b: 21/02/1945
Place of birthday: Lichfield


Hope someone can help

Find the birth on freebmd.....buy the cert.
