No sign of the family in 1851, so they possibly emigrated before then as youngest son on the 1841 census died in Victoria in 1852.

Are you trying to trace backwards from her or forward into Australia?

On the Trove website I typed in Rev John Ride and received the following result

Family notice 4 June 1850 The Argus Melbourne
MARRIED.

At St. James Church, on Saturday, 1st June, John Cree, Esq. of the firm of R. W. McKinnon and Cree, General Dealers, Swanston-street, Melbourne, to Mary, youngest daughter of the Rev. John Ride, Minister of the Primitive Methodist Association, Melbourne.

Rensie, the trove website has the old newspapers which are able to be searched for free http://trove.nla.gov.au.

I'm sure there would be more results for the family if you placed their names in the search box.

PM received from Rensie, confirming the 1841 census is the correct family. She is looking for info after they went to Australia, has the UK stuff.

Will reply & advise how to post on the thread.

There's a public member tree belonging to mmcahon66 on Ancestry, with extensive details of the Ride children, marriages, deaths and their descendants. If you don't have an ancestry sub, you can view the tree on Mundia.com which is free although you have to register.

I searched for Martha Doncaster 1804, so you should be able to find the tree - they've entitled it Jackson 28062010. Although it's a starting point you will need to confirm the details.
