Hello Kathlyn,
You say Cherrill was found in 1972 in Queensland. Where abouts in QLD. If it was Brisbane then we have Brisbane Courier Mail.
Also if you would like to send me a personal message with her info I will see what I can find.
Regards,
Patricia.

Hi Kay ... the 'National Library of Aus' (Canberra) ...on-line.... has an 'Ask a Librarian' service ..they will help trace the family from electoral rolls (past & present). They may also check newspaper death notices (for less common names)... which MAY help.

Hopefully the librarian/s can also advise you of some relevant newspaper columns -to help in your search.

I am researching my family whpo emigrated to Australia in the 1950s. As I am unable to access the marriage records to see if any of the girls married, my next job is to write to a newspaper or newspapers, to see if they would publish a letter for me, in the hope I can find these rellies.

I have googled newspapers in this part of Australia, but I am not sure if they are local or national to that state. Can anyone please give me advice as to which newspapers to contact? They landed in Sydney, but Cherrill was recorded in the 1972 electoral register as living in Queensland.

Thanks

Kay
