Where have you looked?

192.com?
Trees on here?
Facebook?

If it is a female did they marry? if so more than once?

It is a male in Manchester. I have his name, current address, DOB, birth place, wife`s first name and children`s names but i cannot find his birth cert online?

jax Report 27 Feb 2013 13:15

Why do you want his birth details?

Maybe he was adopted or not born in this country?

If you must have these details, ask him

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 27 Feb 2013 14:13

This is not the way to go about it..............

Ask the man if he wants you to have the info...........if he does, no doubt he'll tell you

Genetics for our twins.

If he has a middle name it may be that he is listed under that, or he may have been reg under his mother's maiden name and then taken another name, he may have changed his name entirely.

I still think you should ask the man.........you have his current details

I don't think it's ethical to be trying to find info about him behind his back

Having his birth certificate will not help understand the genetics of your twins. For that you would have to know his medical and cultral history. Only he can tell you that. Birth certificates will only tell you where and when he was born. e.g. you find his birth certificate saying he was born in Wales. What will that tell you. It will not tell you that genetically he was of African/Indian/ Welsh/ English etc etc heritage. For once I agree with Reg... you need to ask him. Collecting a living persons information is a little creepy......... How would you feel if I were to collect yours......

Jane,
Reggie and AussieTrish are making important points here. You are only creating suspicion.

As we do not have a name it might be a good idea to spell out exactly what you want to know and then we can direct you to the right search area. If it is genetics then AussieTrish confirms the facts.

Thanks. I am being helped by a board member who contacted me.

I cannot go into details as it is personal but i have received some off-board help.

Thank you.

P.S. If you want any private information then ask but the way you speak to people on here is very unsettling. You have no idea why i need the information so maybe if you advise rather than dictate, you may be a help to others.
Also, i work in medicine so telling me about genetics is silly.
I have no need for your information to `collect` but the father of my children IS important so hence i asked for help and NOT for strangers details.

I think you need to re read your post to understand the responce you got .

First you claim you have been "searching for a relative for ages but cannot find them"

Then you say
" I have his name, current address, DOB, birth place, wife`s first name and children`s names but i cannot find his birth cert online?"

so In fact you have "found him" and know a lot of very personal information, but haven't contacted him despite "searching for him".

these two sentances alone would ring alarm bells about your intentions. With the amount of identity theft , stalkers and bad people in the world today can you see why people have reacted with suspicion.

probably you should have used the information in your last post and you would have recieved a lot of help.
We all now understand that the "relative" is the father of your children and that you do not wish to contact him for this information; and that you want them to know their heritage. Totally different to genetics. ( and I am also in the medical field)

Responses are ' to the point' - I dont think they are rude.

Still dont know what good a birth cert is with ref to genetics.
Maybe you mean their genealogy or perhaps their heritage - thats different

Jane,

It is good to know that you are being helped. This is, after all, what most of the people who come in on threads wish to do, help those who ask for it.

Good luck with your research.

Jane,
Thank-you for returning to the boards to say that you are getting private help.
If they are unable to find him, perhaps you could tell us so that someone else can also try privately?
