Hilary Report 15 Dec 2012 00:41

My sister Betty Dorathea Lowe born 18th Feb 1935 had 2 sons that I know of.

Paul Anthony Lowe born - 10th Feb 1958 Warneford Hosp. Lemington

She married Ernest Henry Archer - 21st July 1958 they lived at 14 Henley Rd. Lemington
They had a son Gary ( who I have found )

She left the home and went to London. She appeared to have gone back to using her maiden name. I'm not sure whether she had more children, but would love to know if she did.

Both boys were put up for adoption about 1961

I would love to find Paul !!

Have you thought about purchasing her death cert. to see if the informant was a relative?

You also might want to add Betty's details to your tree.

Hi Rose,

Thank You for your reply.

Betty and children are in my tree, she was born Dorathea Betty, but went by Betty Dorathea.
I did get death cert. informant Hilda Patricia Platt ( no relative ) I checked for her on 192.com found nothing after 2003.

Hilary,

The spelling is Dorothea on her birth, marriage and death records.

Someone called Joan has her in her tree on this site. Do you know who that it.

Add yourself to the national adoption contact register, and hope that Paul has done the same.

I've PM'd possible contact details of the person registering Betty's death which Hilary is going to follow up on.

Hilary, this site may be of use especially if you want to check out the possible death I sent, which as I said may be completely wrong:

http://www.norcap.org.uk/index.php

Unfortunately Norcap does make a charge, but their researchers have access to adoption records which we don't.

Update

I managed to contact my sister Betty's roommate who registered her death and had a nice chat.

I also recieved the birth cert suggested, luckily it wasn't the right one, so my Paul Anthony Lowe is still out there somewhere.

I understand Norcap is no more, apart from the registry does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi Hilary,

What was the birth cert. suggested? There's no mention of it here.

Is this the one you ordered?

Births Mar 1958
Lowe Paul A Lowe Warwick 9c 1892

Try this one instead of NORCAP

Hi Rose,

Yes that was the birth cert. I had already recieved it and put the information from it in my thread.

Dectective

I've contacted the gov.uk/adoption-records and have my name on the registry.

Thank You both

Hilary

Think there is some confusion here, Hilary's post 6 Feb at 05:49 should read death certificate (not birth cert) - I had sent a possible death for someone with her nephews forenames and correct birth date - luckily it turned out to be wrong. Hence her comment that he is still out there somewhere.
