I have been searching for my brother for a long time and thanks to your help at last I have a new lead. David was born in 1961 in Ilford, Essex and I in 1963 again in Ilford. We both have the same parents and our surname was Hunt. David was registered twice so must have been adopted as I was. I would dearly love to find my brother so any help would be greatly appreciated

Does his birth cert indicate he was adopted?

The fact his name looks to reg twice isnt necessarily he was reg twice, Births arent re registered when a child is adopted. When yuo see two surname this usually means that the child was illegitimate but the father was at the registration so his name is also on the birth cert . In theory a child can use either surname

OK found em some wag transcriber thinks Ilford is in Herts not Essex.

David is shown under both surnames as his birth is reg with his dad being named on the cert

Thanks for your private message but would prefer you answered on the thread

You should have continued on the other thread and as he was probably adopted there is not much anyone can find as we would not know his new name we can only advise where to look...like the trees on here or to add your name to the adoption contact register
