Have you got the marriage certificate for your parents?
Do you know who Brian's parents are?
Thanks

GR was'nt around in 2001 so she would not have been able to have opened an account on here if that was her.

As I said she has a fairly new membership number begining with 12 million and its only been just over a week since you have sent a message...you need to give it time

I'm guessing this is the death you've latched on to?

England & Wales, Death Index: 1916-2006

Name: Patricia Ann Smith
Birth Date: 11 Jun 1959
Date of Registration: Nov 2001
Age at Death: 42
Registration district: Northampton
Inferred County: Northamptonshire
Register Number: D58B
District and Subdistrict: 6701D
Entry number: 11

When did the GR member open her account?

And, anyway, the Patricia A Smith born in Nottingham was not registered until OND qtr.....

She probably married.................................

Suggest you try again on 192, and use the FULL name

There are numerous Smith/Joyce births in Nottinghamshire

If you purchase your father's birth cert, you will learn the names of his parents

Which death record do you think refers to your father's possible sister?

Why do you think her second name was/is Ann?

C_White1986 Report 5 Oct 2012 11:19

I have tried googling and 192 etc but there are loads of Brian Smith's. I chose Patricia because she has who I think is my father on her family tree and they also have the same mother's maiden name. I know very little about my father other than his name. I can only get so far with the information I have.

Why, out of all the Smith/Joyce births, have you chosen Patricia's as a possible sibling for your father?

Do you know the first names of his parents?

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 5 Oct 2012 11:05

Have you tried using www.192.com to locate your father?

If he hasn't chosen to withold his details from the public ER, you may be able to find him on the site

You would have to pay to view the details, but I'm sure you'd consider that worthwhile

Chris

Please would you remove the names of the females to whom you 'think' your father was married. They may not wish to be discussed on this insecure site

All info on here can easily be found by anyone googling....hence the need for discretion

Sorry I was getting confused. I think I have found his brothers/sisters so will have a look to see if they are on any family trees on here. I think Brian himself had a quite a few children (that's what I have been told).

The reason I think that Patricia may have died is that I searched the death records and she died when she was 42. Unless it is a different Patricia Ann Smith.

Hi, have only just noticed your replies. I am fairly new to this.

I sent Patricia a message on Tuesday. I found Patricia's birth record and they share the same mother's maiden name.

How do I search for the children. I think he had quite a few!

I don't think the 1991 marriage is him.

Looking at the Patricia Smith on here she is a fairly new member...in the last year or so

Has the message been read (no evelope showing)?

How long ago did you send it?

Also there is another marriage in Nottingham for the same name combinations for Brians parents...do you know that Patricia is his sister?

It looks more likely that Brians parents married in 1959 so some of the older Smith children probably belong to another couple

Brian was born in Nottingham.
The marriage in 1989 was in Nottingham, in 1991 in Kent, and in 1997 in Hampshire.
I think these could be 3 different Brian B Smith's.

Have you looked to see if he is in anyone's tree on here?

Added:
There appear to be 5 Smith children born in Nottingham with the same mother's maiden name (including a Patricia). Have you looked for them also?

Added:
If you are assuming that Patricia has died because she does not reply to pm's, it could just be that she is no longer a member of genes and/or has changed her email address.

Hi, all im trying to find my dad Brian Bernard Smith. The only information that I have been able to find is that he was born in March 1961. He married my mum in October 1989. The other information I have found is that I think he remarried in 1991 and also again in October 1997, but not sure if that info is correct. I also think I found his sister on here a Patricia Ann Smith. If anyone has information I would be very grateful.

Regards
Chris
