Tying to trace Mike Bailey Alias Bill?. D O B 4th july 1935.
Served Devon and Dorset Regiment UK.Cant find any records for him anywhere. Possibly emigrated Australia@ mid 1960s?
Does anyone know or knew him?
Does he appear in your family tree?
Any help much appreciated.

Welcome to the boards Nicola.

First thing you must do is remove his birth date, as this is not a secure site and it compromises his privacy.
Then check for matches by using 'search all trees' (in search box above).
Have you located his birth on Freebmd? This will give a location and if you are lucky names of siblings:

There is only one birth which fits, assuming he was born England. This was in Kent. Does that ring a bell?
If it is him his mother's maiden name was very unusual which would be a big help.
