Rita you don't seem to have Harold in a tree at this site

if someone uses this site they are more likely to find you that way than by finding this message

one suggestion for your message here is to edit the subject line to add the surname since it may be more likely to be picked up on an internet search that way

at the moment Google finds only the index pages where your post appears (which are out of date by the time someone sees them), but since you have updated the post now Google is more likely to cache your full thread, so that's one good thing for anybody searching for the name

and as Jacqueline says, use the adoption contact register (assuming he was not adopted locally in Germany)

also be sure always to have a current email address in your account at this site ... if someone sends you a private message you can reply even if you do not have a paid subscription

and click 'Watch this thread' at the top, otherwise you do not get notices of replies in the thread itself

Add yourself to the national adoption contact register

If he knows he was adopted, and has any interest in tracing birth family, he may have done the same.

Put him in your tree on here...............if he should happen to join at any time in the future, he'll be able make the connection.

He is my brother and I didn't know of his adoption until a couple of years ago.

Its unlikely that you will get a response. If you know the full names then try Search Trees to see if he is listed
