Hi Brummijan,

I have ordered the marriage certificate for my grandfather and Mary so hopefully this might shed some light and have now got from Leanne on here the address for John Barnes sister so hopefully I might get someone in tracing him xx

Anne, just a comment - there is no evidence of a middle name on any of Mary's marriage records.
Have you tried looking for matches in other members' trees?
As John has no middle name either, finding a marriage for him will be difficult. You might be best to look for Mary's death, but again this is a fairly common name. So it would help if you knew her birth year, better still her exact birthday!

Hi, I am trying to trace John Barnes who was born in Shoreditch, London in 1946. His mother is Mary Casey Barnes (formerly Linihan, Nee Darvill). I think his father was Samuel John Barnes who was born in 1906 and who married Mary in 1950.

I think he also has two sisters who were older than him but their surname was Linihan. His mother's first husband died in 1943 and then she got with my grandfather Samuel John Barnes, (who died in 1981) and Mary died in 1989 i think)

I would love to contact him as he would be my uncle and my family never knew anything about him until now
