Thankyou your post giving details of Archilbald's marriage has helped me a lot - as I now know Marie Ella (or Ella Marie) parents were Benjamin C Branch and Elizabeth Ellen Chant who was from Switzerland.

I've made a tree on Ancestry : Black Branch tree - and have added the photos which I now believe are Archibald & Ella along with the parents of the persons who maried - there are 3 photos one with the two sets of parents another with the bride and groom best man bridesmaid and flower girl and the other one is of the bride and groom.

Looks like Alan was an only child:

Births Sep 1925
BLACK Alan R Branch Croydon 2a 436

There are too many Alan R Blacks to find the correct marriage. He died in 1987.

parents were Archibald Randolph Black bn 10/5/1895 died 3rd Q 1971 and Marie Ella (also known as Ella Marie) who died 14/10/1981 who was the niece of Mrs Ada Julia Barratt of Southend on Sea.

We bought our house from Alan Black in 1983 and recently clearing out our loft have found 3 family photos which we would like to pass to a rightful relative :-)
