I am looking for descendants of:-

Patrick Michael Smith, born 17 February 1923 in Essex. Died 1983 in High Peak area of Derbyshire.

Herbert James Smith, born 14 December 1917, Shoeburyness, Essex. Died 21 July 1994, Norton, North Yorkshire.

Their parents were, James Peter Smith and Rose Violet (nee Turnage)

My late father was Anthony Smith and both Patrick and Herbert James were my uncles. My father lost touch with them in the 1960's.

Thanks brumiejan, I have tried writing to the informants but I have not received any reply. As they both died quite a while ago I don't know if the informants are still at the address given or even if they are deceased or not.

were the informants described as any relation? If so you could try and follow through the BMD,s to find them

One was no relation and the second informant was a daughter in law, unfortunately, I do not know what her maiden name was age, place of birth etc.

You may be able to trace her though as she must have married a son to be a DIL.
Trouble is tho with name of Smith may not that straight forward and may mean some cert buying.

If she gave a home address then maybe you can find her on the electoral rolls But would be at the Main Library for the area

You definitely need to check the electoral register for her address, hopefully this will give her husband's name for you to work with.
And I would check out the addresses for the deceased too.

You said that your Father lost touch with his brothers in the 1960's.
By this time they would have been in their 40's.
Did your Father ever talk about them, or were you aware of cousins that you could have had?
Do you know if they moved north separately, or did the whole family at a young age leave Essex?
